I've not been taking many photos over the last 3 months or so due to a severe outbreak of decorating in the house !! But what I have shot has been very purposeful and specific. This last week I shot based on the theme of the number 3 ( a competition at work) and these 4 shots are the results.
2 out of the 4 are water drops on a DVD. one is treated with a quadtone conversion (a speciality of mine) to give a really rich B&W. The colours on the other one were just spectacular so I left them be and enhanced them some.

The final shot is the word three from the Oxford English Dictionary with a heavily processed texturisation in photoshop.
I've also finally got around to creating my 2011 signature.... and it's already nearly march !!

Heavily Textured Bluebell
I've not posted much recently but have been playing with textrues... with what I think is a great result.

Sycamore Bud
This was a very bland, flat and boring shot so I gave it some textrue treatment in photoshop and heh presto... something far more interesting and visually appealing.
Thanks to skeletalmess for the following textures (bokah2, ageing effects5 and painted canvas) I applied a layer mask to delete the bokah2 texture from over the bud itself.

The Wonder of FLICKR
It's amazing where Flickr can take you... I'd commented on some textured shots from http://www.flickr.com/people/augcott/ and she replied with some comments about the textures and how good they were as they were free.... I checked them out and they were excellent. They're from "skeletall mess" (strange name) on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/skeletalmess/
So I had a play with one of my most recet uploads, a shot of Ben winning his race int he Cubs Swimming gala (we're now the district champions) and this is the end result of applying 3 textures at varying opacities and blending modes. I like the effect.

Textures, Shapes, Colours : A Photowalk Montage
It's been a while since I've blogged and am trying to catch up.....This montage is from a lunchtime photowalk in February around my work with the Photography club. There were various themes and I chose to focus (pun intended) on shapes/patterns, colours and textures. This is the result compiled together as a montage.

Textured Red Acer
Shot a few weeks ago but only recently tweaked in photoshop by overlaying some textures. Sctratched metal is the main one.
